Billy has always been fascinated with the human face.  This evolution in his arts began in Paris in cemeteries with “Living Statues-- Photographies.”  Later on he photographed close-ups of the emotions of women leading to his fourth book to be released in 2010.  While living on the Ile Saint-Louis he began drawing faces.  In less than 3 years he had drawn over 400 faces all the while continuing with his love of photography.

In January of 2009, Billy took brushes to canvas and painted extremely colorful 4x5 foot faces.  In the words of Folk Art champion Ralph Esmerian, “[Billy’s] faces are at the same time innocent and yet forboding.”  Each one is unique with a totally original expression on its face.  As you see, Billy is a pioneer in self-taught outsider art.
